TRUCKBED MAGGO VESSEL (2024)

To my eye, this sculptural vessel’s aluminum strips resemble the leaf springs that support the bed of a pickup truck. Layering has always been deeply compelling; I employ it and return to it often in a longstanding sub-practice of intricate paper cutting. However, this is the most prominent example thus far of material layering in my metal work. That an entire vehicle could be suspended by ingeniously simple layers is astonishing. Made to order, with a current build time of 5-6 weeks.
